“Special K” or Ketamine is a rapid acting anesthetic drug used mainly by veterinarians and sometimes in human surgery. It is also known as a dissociative anesthetic because it can make a person feel a sense of detachment, as if their mind is separated from their body.

So many people, especially young people coming into treatment believe that marijuana is a “soft drug” and refuse to acknowledge the actual dangers it poses. It is not the same drug popularized during revolutionary times in the 60’s where free love and free drugs were the order of the day. Today it is a dangerous and harmful drug that connects people with a lifestyle that surrounds drug use. Mental health implications are far reaching and could easily turn into chronic disorders.
